Personally, I think creating a vision board can actually help you to organize your thoughts and set specific intentions for your life. Good for overthinkers like myself. It not only embraces our creativity, but will bring you clarity on what you want and what you don’t. With that, of course, comes spending time on reflection. So, yes, you have to be willing to look a bit deeper.
Here the steps I went over, that might help you, but will also share some inspirational pins from Pinterest.
(1)
I was feeding my creativity by simply surfing on the internet. I love Pinterest for that purpose, but was also googling.
(2)
After that my reflection part began, asking myself multiple questions:
What are the priorities in my life? Where am I not happy? Where do I need to spend time to get better? What does my dream life look like?
(3)
Scribble down all your thoughts. Does not need to be organized yet. What comes into mind, gets written down (on paper or digital).
(4)
Additionally, you now look for “things” that reflect your aspirations. For me it is specific phrases, statements or quotes. They trigger me in a positive way. But it can also be pictures, videos, songs, famous idols, podcasts, books etc.
Example: You might remember an Insta post, that got quite popular, I “stole” from: I am healthy, I am wealthy, I am in divine, The universe and I are aligned.
It really stuck with me and I keep telling it to me on a regular basis.

Now you start organizing all your ideas and aspirations, ideally by categorizing them into, e.g. family, love, career, home etc.
By the end of this exercise, you should be able to have one affirmation representing each category, that is important for you.

We are getting close to the realization of the vision board. Dependent on your preference:
a. If you are a fan of tangible boards, then get yourself a picture frame or board you can hang on the wall. Start adding the pieces you created onto the board in a way it looks appealing to you.
b. If you are more the digital person, no worries, works also. It can be a powerpoint, word doc or a pinterest board. Same process, though: put them into an order that makes sense to you.
